Keeping with the theme of rain, I'd like to share my friend Reini Adelbert's album Memories of Rain, with you.
As much as I'm used to my photographs being used commercially, there are some projects that I'm particularly gratified to be connected with, and I'm so delighted that Reini chose this photograph of a receding thunderstorm in Mokala for his album cover!
Reini's music has always brought me happiness, as much through the depth and humour in his lyrics (and the stories behind them), as through his unique guitar style, and I find myself floating in aural bliss whenever I hear him play - both live and recorded. (The album has the added bonus of being a colaboration with some of my favouite, and very talented, local musicians!)
I highly recommend that you treat yourself to a listen, either via his website at reiniadelbert.co.za or, if you're fortunate to be in Cape Town, you can hear him playing live tomorrow evening (Tuesday 5 June) at the False Bay Folk Music Club, together with the soul-soaring Jennifer Eaves who's also just released an album.
