Last Cape Town pic before I head upcountry...
Lion's Head splits day from night, two nights before full moon, sunset/moonrise. I only had my Camsung so I created a panoramic image with the phone's basic camera software. (The "pro" camera software was too fussy and annoyed me; sometimes–often!–simpler is simply better!)
The sunset/Camp's Bay side was, naturally, much brighter than the moonrise/City Bowl side, and since I started on the left the whole image was exposed for sunset level of brightness, which was a few stops below the "correct" exposure for the city side, causing it to appear to be in late night. However, to the eye—or rather, to the brain—the city side was merely in that beautiful dusky crepuscular light just after the sun has disappeared below the horizon. This time, I like the camera's creative interpretation...
(And the winner of last week's prize draw for the R500 Gift Voucher is Justine Watterson. Congratulations! See you in Jozi!)
