It looks like all the weather forcasters are in agreement about a hefty chunk of winter weather set to hit the Cape tomorrow, so if you're in town, better batten down the hatches: gale force winds predicted to gusting up to 100km/h with lots of rain!
To set the mood of the calm before the storm, this week's pic is from my delightful walk over Kalk Bay Peak last Sunday: the Southeaster howled a cloud over the mountain (mesmerizing our Tanzanian companion who discovered for the first time what it was like to walk in a cloud!), but a thick, still, silent calm pervaded the sheltered forest in Spes Bona Valley, creating a magical atmosphere that Judy and I agreed we'd never quite experienced there before...
